About Me
My Name is Jonas Quincy Todd. I am a 22 year old North Carolina native, born and raised in Chapel Hill-Carrboro, currently residing in the Boone area of the North Carolina Mountains. I have found that I feel most at home behind the camera, often finding myself going to extremes just to ensure I get the perfect shot. While I enjoy any and all types of photography, I find my true love lies within capturing raw, natural beauty, whether the subject be a person, animal or nature.
I have always had a passion for photography, which was solidified during my later years at Chapel Hill High School where I was a member of the school's yearbook team, helping to produce the Hillife Yearbook for both 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. Yearbook at Chapel Hill High School was a class, but also a professional publication.
My Junior year I was brought on as a staff photographer but between a lack of care on the part of the head photographer and an ever-growing passion for photography, as well as an immense dedication to the production of the yearbook itself, I came to serve as the head photographer, becoming solely responsible for ensuring the yearbook team had all the pictures they needed to produce the final product on time. Furthermore, I began to take on tasks outside of my duties as the head photographer to help ensure deadlines required for completing the yearbook on time were met.
My Senior year, I was officially the head photographer, but I also served as an assistant to both the editors-in-chief and the teacher in charge of the class, taking on the responsibilities of all aspects of the yearbook production in addition to my duties as the head photographer. Some of the additional responsibilities I took on included working with the advertisements team, bringing in 100% of the ads placed by local businesses. Along with selling the ad space to the local business, I also designed the majority of these business ads, and some of the senior tributes, ad space purchased by parents of seniors at the school to pay tribute to their children who were graduating. Additionally, I created many spreads for the yearbook that needed to be done, and took care of some of the jobs usually done by the editors-in-chief and the teacher, such as reviewing pages before submitting them. I also was given the job of assembling the final version for the end of the year slideshow shown to the school on yearbook day.
In addition to my work for yearbook, I also had an internship for the Athletic Booster Club at my school, during which I assembled 3 videos to be shown at the Seasonal Sports Awards Ceremonies, and designed a new website for them so they had a modern website allowing them to better support the athletics department at my school.
